Lao Jiao Doctors

Friday and this is the first time in my 2 weeks paeds posting i went to a clinic. Had a choice of the "great" Dr W.L, a nephro clinic or neuro clinic...
kena rejected by a "middle aged jiao" registrar while trying to join her nephro clinic.. quite sad but anyway... luckily it was a blessing in disguise..

WQ and me decided to wait for a room 6 neuro clinic instead. We were expecting another middle aged doctor to come by but... Along came a grandfather looking er... uncle? (Ah Peh) who was in shirt and tie and was holding a NTUC plastic bag. He walked past us and went on to enter.. room 6!!

Well that was like one of the last clinic left unless we want to risk a Dr W.L garbage collecting session.. So anything goes..

"Grandpa" was so kind to let us into his clinic and even warned us that there might not be anything good to see.. But at that time anything is better than Dr W.L

I really like lao jiao doctors.. "Grandpa" asked us questions and praised us when we answered correctly but kept quiet and allowed us to redeem ourselves when we made mistakes.. until he decided we were not intellegent enough for the question before he enlightened us in a subtle manner.

There are other nice lao jiao doctors..
One who takes exams and says "Come feel this lipoma and tell me what is it?"
Some who always tell grandfather stories during lectures/tutorials and never fail to smile.
And i dun often see an old doctor terrorizing students (unless i'm so lucky not to meet one of them)

I suddenly want to be like them.. benign, nice but knowledgeable.. but before reaching that stage, i would still want to enjoy the many things i can now..
