Who's the patient?
It took me the entire encounter before i realised how i neglected her, the patient.. After i had to tackle the bombardment of questions her husband threw at me.
How much is the scan, what is her diagnosis, whether it can be covered by insurance.
The patient just sat there and listened..
I watched how she limped into the clinic.. she needed a scan/scope or physio at least.. but she got none of that..
She just got my answers to her husband's questions regarding claims. Whether anything will be done for her seems to need her husband's approval i.e. the insurance company's reimbursement before anything could be done..
Should i just take it that her husband's decision will be their shared one?
I hope so... Else that was a treatment failure.. the patient suffers but her husband's pocket is saved.
